Sustainable Development Project

As the root of the problem is the negative setback to the livelihood opportunities with COVID – 19 Pandemic with strikes Sri Lanka in the year 2020, this project hopes to address it through the provision of interest-free loans, which in turn would help the applicants to engage in a livelihood project of their choice which would have to be approved prior to the Disbursement of the interest-free loans. After that, there would be a systematic positive impact on individuals income.

Dry Fish trading

Dry fish is a very successful venture as there is a high demand for dry fish in the southern part of Sri Lanka. DAI Lanka was able to partner with a dry-fish wholesaler who appointed sales agents to a given area based on the applications received. Due to the lockdown which has been imposed recently most of the retail outlets has undergone a closure for one and half month. But during that period mobile retail trading was permitted. Taking this as an advantage dry fish trading was done through a door-to-door trading service.
